Possession or Distribution of Child Pornography

Possessing or distributing adult pornography is not a crime. However, if the subject of the pornography is a youth, you may be charged with possession of child pornography or distributing child pornography. Most commonly, these types of charges arise as a result of police investigations that begin with investigators tracking the sharing of child pornography over the internet.
A conviction for possessing or distributing child pornography can result in lengthy jail sentences and impact current or future employment, educational or housing opportunities. Any conviction for a pornography related offence will be made public and may therefore continue to impact your life long after your sentence is complete.
