Marvin Stern has been specializing in Criminal Law for over 33 years. Marvin began his career working as a Crown prosecutor for seven years both in Manitoba and British Columbia. As a prosecutor, he gained invaluable experience and insight into the legal system, which has greatly enhanced his effectiveness as a defence lawyer.
Marvin has focused much of his career defending those charged with serious drug charges, drunk driving, sexual offences, aggravated assault, and murder. He has appeared in court throughout British Columbia, although he most frequently appears in court as a Surrey criminal lawyer. He has conducted cases in Alberta, Ontario and as far east as St. John’s, Newfoundland.
Marvin has represented people from all walks of life including a sitting Member of the Legislative Assembly as well as one of Canada’s biggest Rock Stars.
He is also frequently called upon to lecture lawyers on current legal trends and techniques and, most recently, has been involved in an international project teaching judges and prosecutors oral trial techniques in Ethiopia.
The media frequently calls upon Marvin for his opinion on the most pressing legal issues of the day. He has been a repeat guest on the Bill Good Show, CBC, and other media outlets. He has also been very active in community volunteer work, most notably with Big Brothers of B.C., McLaren Housing Society, and The Ride to Conquer Cancer.
